12 Ways to Romanticise Your Everyday Life

1) Start your day with a fancy drink

It could be a coffee, a fancy cup of tea, or even just a glass of water with some sliced lemon in it. I've been using glass water bottles so you can see the fruits inside the water. It makes it so much more aesthetic.

Bright yellow lemons, whole and halved, are arranged on a plain white background. The scene is fresh and vibrant.

2) Wear comfortable silk pyjamas and fluffy slippers

I LOVE all my sets of silk pyjamas, they make me so happy! And they feel so good when you put them on after a shower.

3) Buy yourself flowers

Did you know that you can buy yourself flowers? Buy a lovely assortment and arrange them beautifully into a vase, then place it on your counter. So romantic!

4) Don't be afraid to dress up

Even if you're spending the day at home, it can make you feel more confident in yourself.

5) Use candles and dim lighting to set the mood

Lighting is something that can shift the whole mood of a room and make it feel super magical. I love neon rainbow lights, but you can really use anything you like.

6) Have a picnic

I love cute little picnics and charcuterie boards. If it's cold, you could even have an indoor picnic. It could be by yourself, with a friend, or with a partner. Totally up to you. I recommend this "cheese board" that I got from Amazon AU. I think it was for one of our anniversaries (with my partner Luke).

7) Take yourself on a solo date

This one is really up to you: go to the movies alone, go out to eat alone, take yourself on a day trip somewhere, and just enjoy your own company.

8) Create a vision board

This could be done digitally on Pinterest, or you could do it the old-fashioned way with paper and magazine cutouts. I love "this one" from Amazon.

9) Surround yourself with books

Or go down to your local book shop and pick up a new book. I've been reading a lot faster now that I have my Kindle, but I also still love the feel and smell of real books. The books that I am reading at the moment are:

10) Write letters

Write letters to your future self, your past self, your current self, or write letters to your friends and loved ones. Send them the old-fashioned way, with a stamp. Fun fact, my mum collects stamps, so I try and remember to save them for her when I get a cool one.

11) Create an indulgent night routine

Use satin or bamboo sheets, have a fancy mocktail before bed, do some mindfulness, and limit screentime.

12) Watch the sunrise or sunset

This is honestly one of my favourite activities, and it's so simple. Being up for sunrise is so nice, but also watching the sunset on the beach has a calm, resetting vibe. This is the stuff I am so grateful for.

Sunset over a tranquil beach with a long pier stretching into the sea. Sky painted in purple and orange hues, creating a serene atmosphere.
