Day 83 of "Figuring it Out" - December is the worst time to get sick! Grr

Updated: 2 days ago

Kia Ora! Happy Wednesday! Hope ya'll having a lovely day today!

Melbourne weather is lovely today but it's a bit of a shame because I can't go outside. Last night Luke did a RAT test and unfortunately tested positive for covid (which is lame because we could have avoided this if people weren't assholes and didn't interact with others while sick or went out while having symptoms). Grr. Anyway, my RAT was negative but I have a bad bad headache, a dry cough, and really itchy eyes, and just feel a lot more fatigued than I normally do. So we'll see what happens over the next few days. Although I don't plan on going anywhere for the next week or so BUT I really don't want to have to schedule future appointments I have soon because they are going to be awful to reschedule during Christmas and New Year's. Also, I've gone 3 years without getting covid and now this is dumb. So far, strep throat was worse. Anyway, Luke's taken over the spare room and I'm just trying to rest to fight off whatever it is. I've also made myself poached eggs and a smoothie just to help boost immunity. I also ate some honey because that's always such a good home remedy for when you are sick. But yeah, I wish people just had the common decency not to go out while sick or interact with people if you're not feeling 100%. Luckily, this is pretty much how I feel most of the time (so nothing new) - I don't really know if luckily is the right word here but ya know. I also planned on doing some more vlogs this week but I have a feeling that's not going to happen. I think I'm just a bit grumpy because things could have been easily avoided. And things I wanted to do today, I can't ahah.

Anyway, because staring at a screen is really hard (soz to all the messages I've ignored lately) I don't know how long today's blog will be. But at least we're not sick the week of our holiday or Christmas Day. That would have really pissed me off more. So I've basically been chilling in bed all day and trying to catch up on sleep because I did not get much last night at all. I don't know whether we'll get any more Christmas Light Hunting in before the busy AF period either - but we'll see how we are next week. My IBS isn't happy today hahahaa so that's no fun. So no plans until we're better. Thankfully we did our groceries for this week and still have plenty of food. I'm skeptical to take pain killers because I don't feel like they would help me rn and I have to take so many meds anyway. My tummy is starting to feel awful again so I'm gonna end the blog there.

For today's question, I want to know, what's your favourite type of cereal? Let me know in the comments below. For me, I always loved Cocoa Pops as a kid as well as the Milo Cereal and I am a fan of weetbix bites (but idk how bad they are for my tummy) - I mean most cereals are really bad for you anyway because they are full of sugar, are ultra processed, and have no nutritional value whatsoever. But I remember Milo cereal being so good my friends and I would eat it for a snack at primary school lol (without the milk). Pls don't try and eat milo powder without the milk though. That is really not a good idea and gives me flashbacks to the cinnamon challenge. Wtf is wrong with society? Anyway, if you're gonna have milo for a drink, make it properly.

Oki, I'm going now. Pls don't expect too much from my blogs over the next week or so. I'll get back to writing longer ones and doing my videos once I feel a lot better (or film some more story times at home - I've got one ready but don't want to upload it too soon yet).

BYEEEEE Much love,

Ash xx
