Hi friends! Happy Monday! It's birthday week for me (as my birthday is on Saturday the 9th of November and I am turning 29, eek, I feel old) and I literally just opened Buzzfeed this morning to get some inspo for my blog AND I tell you what, I found exactly what I was looking for. This post "here" is all about things we should know/do by the time we turn 30. But the reason why I said that it was my birthday week is because celebrations start tomorrow and go all the way until we go to NZ so it's gonna be a hectic few weeks, so if I'm a little quieter on the blogging front, that's why. BUT I do really wanna get lots of content out and batch some so you all have some cool stuff to read! I'm hoping today and tomorrow I can work really hard on my blogs + vlogs!!!
For my post, we're going to take inspiration from that Buzzfeed article and turn it into something fun for asheycakes (i.e., 30 must do's before you turn 30). I also want to reference my "30 Things I Want to Do Before I'm 30" post here because I feel they are related.
30 by 30: The Must-Do List Everyone's Talking About (Inspired by Buzzfeed)
Life begins when you stop caring about what others think of you and you do what you always want to do.
Travel alone at least once in your life.
Be accountable, it's okay to make mistakes, we are human, but we definitely need to be accountable for ourselves when we do make a mistake.
Stand up for what you believe in.
Know how to change a tyre, oil, and put air in your car tyres.
The only person that can make you happy is YOU! Don't rely on anyone else to make you happy.
Know how to cook a few dishes.
Have moved out of your parents/caregivers house - it's okay to go back if you need but living outside of home is such an important thing to do.
Vote in all the elections that you can.
Have gone to therapy/counselling.
How to spend time alone.
How to be single.
Cut out toxic relationships whether that's friends, family, or exes.
Learn how to set healthy boundaries.
Learn to read a map (something I still struggle with).
Know how to ask for help when necessary.
Get financially savvy.
Cultivate a positive habit.
Conquer at least one fear.
Practice gratitude and mindfulness.
Take care of your health.
Comparison isn't always a good thing.
Remember that one of the best investments of your time is to take an interest in other people.
Being happy is better than being on the fast track.
Listen to yourself, your gut and your body.
If you're ever at a loss with an idea, you're probably onto something.
Climb mountains - not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world.
Learn critical thinking skills.
Don't be afraid of who you are.
Discover your purpose.
Thanks for reading! Much love,
Ash xoxo
I love this list, I'm pretty sure I've done everything, although I should try changing a tire again, because I'm pretty sure I've forgotten how to do it. Overcoming my arachnophobia would be great too. Thanks for sharing!
