Day 29 of "Figuring it Out" - Crazy Coffee Flavours

Updated: Sep 26

Hi friendlings! How's your week going? Are you feeling a h*lluva lot better than I am? I hope you are. Today is another gloomy day in Melbourne and I am wishing that the beautiful sun would come out so we can actually hang our washing outside and get it dry faster (first world problems lol). And I'd also like to go for a walk after work at 5 but will see if it's raining or not then.

In health news, I am still feeling absolutely awful, my stomach hates me and it feels like 5 years of IBS has gone down the drain and I am not looking forward to whatever more issues these iron supplements are going to do to me. Ah, such is life. I just want my energy back and for my stomach not to feel like I have gastro all the time. Fingers crossed I get better soon and find whatever new adventures await me.

Last night Luke and I had pasta for dinner, I am wanting to post more of my cooking and baking recipes on here I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I hope with some funky recipes, it will drive more traffic to my blog as I really want to monetize it somehow and make it a really authentic experience for those who keep up to date with it. I've also got to learn some more about SEO and how to make it a bit nicer to read on mobile as I know that's where a lot of you are reading it from. I believe it's really annoying to add comments on mobile as it goes through the "I'm not a robot" authenticator a few times. So it's definitely something I'm aware of and want to fix. Thanks Luke for persevering through and always commenting on my blogs (and whoever else comments too). It will really help if you comment on the blogs and not on the posts where I share them on social media (i.e., to help gain audience and google traction for more views/comments - a little goes a long way).

Work has also been a bit quieter on the phones today, but still super busy with 2024 enrolments and I've definitely had some very weird calls today including one from a student's mum and a few from a communications company, what a day. I am very drained. Only a few hours to go. It's solidifying for me that it's time to start anew.

Lately, I've been pretty slack with reading too and it's something I also want to get back into as it really helps creativity. I also want to do a 2023 book review of books I've read (so far 10.5 which I'm happy with because my goal was read 10 this year and it's usually a goal I don't actually get to). I am definitely realising that this blog has become a public journal too haha so hopefully no one ever comes at me for what I post online - it's my space.

Anyway, with me drinking my coffee (regretfully though), I thought I'd share some of the world's weirdest coffee flavours with ya'll.

  1. Electric Unicorn Fruity Cereal Coffee Beans (U.S.A, Canada)

  2. Strawberry Cheesecake (U.S.A)

  3. Butter Coffee (Australia, also known as bulletproof coffee - just what it says, coffee with extra fat)

  4. Spicy Taco Flavoured Coffee (U.S.A)

  5. Mushroom Coffee (Australia)

  6. Glazed Donut Flavour (coffee pods though - from amazon so unsure where directly from)

  7. Mint Chocolate Chip Coffee Beans (U.S.A, Canada)

Which one would you be brave enough to try? Let me know in the comments below. I really want to try the Spicy Taco one!

Also for today's question, I think I've already previously asked what your favourite hot bevvy is so for today, I want to know what your favourite drink is in general? Could be anything from alcoholic to soft drink to plain old water. I have a few but probably would have to say L&P or a Lemon, Lime & betters. Also, Fonda has a really good juice selection (Watermelon and Lime is so good).

That's all from me this Friday! Keep watching this space for more fun things added to my website :)

Ka kite,

Much love,

Ash xx

It does depend on the scenario and time of day but as a short-list:

Coffee - in the mornings and generally not after lunch (black, strong and nothing else in it)

Barossa Shiraz - best enjoyed on a cold day in front of a warm fire with a hearty meal but I like it year round

A very cold VB on a really hot day after a full day's hard yakka (either playing cricket or just outside in general)

Heaps Normal - when I want a beer but don't want alcohol

Solo - my favourite soft drink

I am definitely a plain old water person. No alcohol or hot drinks. Occasional fizz but water is the go to.
