Hi friends! Curious about what I've been reading the past two months? Check out my March & April 2026 book reviews here. I've collated March and April, as I didn't do much reading in March due to just how hectic the month got.
I'm up to 11 books read for 2026 (a bit slacker than last year, I know).

March & April 2026 Book Reviews
Without Fail - Lee Child (#6 Jack Reacher series): This is probably the first book in the Reacher series where I felt like not much was happening, and I was bored, and the concept is literally about assassinating a politician, so you would think that a book like that wouldn't be boring. Anyway, it took me a good wee while to get into it, but once I did, I was very hooked and needed to know what was happening and when and why and where. Most of the story happens in the last third of the book, so you could probably skip a lot. I am looking forward to the next book in the series. I rate this one a 6.5/10. The only other thing I would say about this book is that I struggled to relate to some of the characters introduced (and I don't always need to, but I think having something more relatable in this one would have made me happy).
Life Admin Hacks - Mia Northrop & Dinah Rowe-Roberts: YAY, I finally finished this book! A lot of advice was given in this book, but it was SO repetitive and boring. I get that it's about making your life easier, but when you live with OCD, always being super strict with things isn't the right answer. I liked how it was Australian and learning about how each author changed things in their lives. I didn't like how repetitive and tedious it became; it needed a little bit of humour sprinkled in there. I think this book would be better titled something like "How to make your life easier by doing X" because when I think of life hacks, I think of 5-minute fun, quick fixes. So, from a getting your sh*t together perspective, it's a 10/10, but from a casual reading perspective, I give it a 5/10. Give me humour, dammit!
The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die - John B. Izzo: This was a great read. Very emotional. The author and some of his colleagues interviewed older and wiser people, often late in their 90s, and there was some great advice. I cried a bit, and I felt like it's a good book to read when you feel like you're at a crossroads in your life. Something that stuck out from the book for me was "live your life so you have a ten-hour funeral, not a ten-minute funeral", meaning live your life so much that when you die, everyone wants to stick around and tell stories about you. Another thing that stuck out for me was how someone said you don't always know how much of an impact you have on others' lives, and you might never know, so always be kind. I really liked that sentiment. I rate this a 9/10.
The Top Insults: How to Win Any Argument...While Laughing - Full Sea Books: I thought this was going to be funny, but most of the insults weren't very clever. A very quick read. I give this a 4/10.
What If No One Is Coming To Save You: And 67 Other Questions That Will Shatter Your Perceptions and Change The Way You Live Your Life - Corey Gladwell: I loved this book, and yes, I do seem to be reading a lot of New Age-style self-help books lately. But this one had some really deep questions. I wrote all of them down in my notebook because they were awesome "what if?" questions, and I don't want to forget them. It definitely changed my perspective on life a bit (again, at a time of crossroads). I think everyone should read this book. I wish I had got a hard copy, rather than an ebook, so I could highlight and write ideas down. I rate this a 8.5/10.
So that's my book reviews for March and April 2026! I do have a lot of unfinished books on my Kindle that I am hoping to finish for my May 2026 Book Reviews, including: Yes Please by Amy Poehler, I Catch Killers by Gary Jubelin, The Panic Years by Nell Frizzell, and Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty. I really want to watch the TV show Big Little Lies, but I can't seem to find it on any of the streaming services we have (and I don't want to pay extra for stuff when we already have so many streaming services LOL).
What's on your TBR reading list right now? Let me know in the comments.
