Hi friends! Welcome back to another blog post about my current obsessions. You can check out Part 1 "here" and Part 2 "here." I really enjoy creating these types of posts; I hope they don't become too repetitive in terms of content and what I'm into at the time of writing.

Please enjoy!

Let me know in the comments what your current obsession is.

My Current Obsessions - Part 3

  • Compression socks - I didn't know how helpful they were going to be, but I'm very happy that I've finally got some.

Two pairs of bamboo compression socks, one orange with "WOOF" and flowers, one purple with a corgi, held in a cozy room with pet items.

  • Going out for brunch rather than dinner - I find that I feel the worst at night, so going out for brunch instead of dinner is really helping me enjoy leaving the house and getting to do something for me. And French Toast is my go-to brunch order at the moment. I want to get some fancy brioche and do my own spin on French Toast at home when I'm feeling up to it.

  • Eating salty foods helps with my suspected POTS symptoms. I know you have to be careful about adding extra salt, but I find that on the nights when I do eat salty meals, I'm able to do a bit more the next day. I'm trying to focus on healthy salts like olives, pickles, and pretzels.

  • Using skim milk again in my coffee. I'm hoping this will help with my IBS symptoms and potential IBD symptoms. I can't tolerate soy milk.

  • Wearing comfy sweatpants sets and loungewear while at home.

  • Getting back into vlogging and gaining my confidence up. I worry about being boring, but I think it's important to share my health journey. You can check out my YouTube channel "here". I'm not sure what my next vlog will be.

  • Using a fancy toner for my face. My mum always told me toner wasn't always needed, but lately it's made my face feel a lot nicer + it feels good under my sunscreen and moisturiser. I'm also wondering if snail serum will help get that glassy skin look.

  • Lots of TV shows, such as Crime Night, Spicks & Specks, The Golden Bachelor, Big Brother, Below Deck Med, Taskmaster, The Diplomat, Morning Wars, Loot, and Palm Royale.

  • Eating fruit bowls (like bowls with peaches, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries). I always find that I eat way more fruit in summer.

  • Chobani High Protein Greek Yoghurts.

  • Using Substack as a place where I detail my "Chronic Health Diaries" - I'm up to Entry #19, so make sure you check it out.

  • Tetris - I've been playing it a lot on my phone, as I read in a study, it was good at helping people process trauma. I am still doing EMDR, we have just taken a break from it while my health is bad as my body can't handle as much processing.

  • Reading, which includes my Kindle, my Kindle Unlimited Subscription, and all the physical books I need to read. I just started "The Let Them Theory" by Mel Robbins.

Neon sign displaying "BOOK STORE" in blue against a brick wall, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

  • Getting in my steps by walking Benji, using my walking pad, and walking around while watching TV. I've got a few apps on my phone that pay you for walking, so it's a great motivation.

  • The colour brown with fashion, i.e., my brown leather jacket and my brown boots. I really didn't think I'd ever like wearing brown, but the right colours work well on me.

  • Electrolytes. I finally found one that I like! The Voost Caffeine Raspberry one.

  • Organising my cupboards one by one. We did the pantry this weekend - I think now that I've turned 30, I gotta be WAY more organised. Next, I will tackle the bathroom cupboards.

  • Resistance bands to help with exercise, like mimicking a rower machine (helpful for when it's hard to stand and exercise).

  • Yoga/Pilates for sciatica/back pain - just doing 10-minute ones here and there to help me out.

  • Double-coated Tim Tams and mini Babybel cheeses.

  • Learning about Icebergs - I even made a blog post re "The Weird/Creepy Internet Stuff Iceberg" and I'm hoping to do more.

  • Ghost videos in general - even though most of them can be explained.

  • Sunrises and sunsets. You can check out my free digital desktop wallpaper downloads "here".

Sunset over a beach with soft pink and blue clouds reflecting on wet sand. Calm waves in the background create a serene mood.

  • Going to bed early.

  • Colouring in on my iPad - yes, I started doing my daily pictures again.

  • Talking to people online who are going through a similar health journey to me.

  • My wheat bag. I love having a wheat bag.

  • My Garmin Venu3s smartwatch - never thought I'd get into the smartwatch cult, but here I am, enjoying how it's helping me.

  • My floral purple dress I bought from a shop in Myer - it's giving TradWife but it's also very flattering with my body type right now.

Woman in a purple floral dress leans against a vibrant mural of blue and green leaves. She's standing on a sidewalk, hands in pockets.

  • Wearing slippers.

  • Putting cute stickers on all my notebooks.

  • Physically writing a journal and my gratitude diaries series on here.

  • Learning more about the Mediterranean Diet for gut health.

  • The flavour peach (not sure why I can eat peach BUT not apricots, lol stupid IBS). I want to make a peaches and cream-flavoured ice cream.

  • Looking for new hobbies that are low energy but mentally stimulating. I wish I could do crochet or beading but I just drop everything with my carpel tunnel.

  • Adding tumeric to everything (that's nothing new).

  • Taro lattes - omg!

  • Anything sparkly.

Thank you for reading!!

Ash xx
