TikTokers Keep Finding Human Teeth in Their Homes — And No One Knows Why

Hello, lovely asheycakes readers! I've been a bit slack on the content lately, so apologies for that, BUT I am on the mend in regards to my head cold and feeling run down in general. I've been thinking about this topic for a while now, and I thought we could explore it together.

So, I've seen a few TikToks where the users talk about finding teeth in their homes, and I wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery, so enjoy.

TikTokers Keep Finding Human Teeth in Their Homes — And No One Knows Why

I do want to say it's not just people on TikTok who this is happening to, but it's where I first heard about it. Anyway, let's start with some example TikToks of what I'm talking about. My blog doesn't have the ability to embed them like a YouTube video, so here are the links:

So what happens when we Google it? Well, we're taken straight to the Paranormal subreddit on Reddit. Other than people just asking what it means, I found this to be a bit of a dead end. People were suggesting maybe the tooth fairy has taken a liking to your family, or that it's some sort of symbolism. The most interesting Reddit post I could find was "this one," where the commenters suggest that OP call the police, just for peace of mind. OP has found 4 adult teeth in their house in the past 2 years. Here's a screenshot:

I haven't included the picture because it gives me the heebie-jeebies, but you get the gist. I like how the top commenter suggests it's either someone messing with OP or a rat/mouse.

So now that we've seen some examples, let's look at some possible explanations

  • Past Dental Practices - If we think about dentists from previous eras, did they dispose of teeth in the same way that modern-day dentists do (i.e., incineration/landfill)? Dentists may have disposed of teeth in walls or yards as a way to get rid of them, and they might randomly pop up in people's homes over time. It's also possible that if a building was once some sort of dental office, teeth may have been left behind and found during renovations.

  • Cultural/Superstitious Beliefs - A human tooth may be used as a good luck charm, and people may bury them as a way of bringing good fortune to themselves. Others may believe that teeth represent change, transformation, or shedding of old patterns.

  • Animal Activity - An animal, such as a rat/mouse, could find a human tooth somewhere and move it.

  • Human Interference - It's possible that a person may place human teeth in odd places to mess with others. I also want to point out that maybe people are jumping on the TikTok trend and "lying" about what they've found.

  • A lost tooth from recent dental work - where people don't realise they've actually lost one of their teeth (I mean, I've lost fillings before, so maybe teeth just randomly fall out sometimes and get moved).

  • In very rare cases, it could be a supernatural occurrence or some sort of witchy symbolism that means your life is about to change. OR, maybe it's the tooth fairy LOL.

I think it's safe to say we've debunked this one. But it would still be very eerie to find adult human teeth in your own home. I think children's teeth would be less creepy because it's often common for parents to save their children's teeth.

If you are worried about anything like this, please install some cameras around the house.

Have you ever found an adult human tooth in your house? Let me know in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
