Day 5 of "Figuring it Out" - A Day Off

Updated: Sep 25

Hello everybody and welcome to my blog! If you're new here, come on in and take a look around, have a look at ALL of the things. We <3 things. It's day 5 of figuring it out!

So if you didn't already know, today is Tuesday and because I worked the weekend, I have today off as an RDO although it doesn't really feel like a day off because I have a doctor's appointment at 4pm this afternoon, as something was up with my blood test results. Fingers crossed it's nothing bad and an easy fix but we shall see. I always hate having appointments at the end of the day because you end up waiting for so long for the doctor (they're always late haha).

Anyway, let's move on to today's daily blog of my stream of consciousness.

I just finished lunch with Luke as he is WFH today, we had some leftover homemade pizza and I made a dragonfruit and berry smoothie. I also made my first recipe blog post you can see 'here' with the nachos recipe we made last night. They were delish! Has anyone heard of that blog delish? It's really good. There are some amazing recipes on there. My problem with following recipes is that I always change them or don't follow them to the T at all. I don't know why but I think that's become part of my personality now as an adult. I make a lot of jokes about it. But somehow it works for me and food is something I love. So I am hoping to share A LOT more recipes on here with you all.

Luke and I's anniversary is coming up in two weeks and Luke's just booked us a cute air bnb on a farm close to some wineries so watch this space for photos and videos to come of that weekend getaway! It'll be good to see some cute cows and other farm animals. I really want to start romanticising my life and getting back into my hobbies and creative works as I keep saying. Yes, I know, I gotta do it and start somewhere.

I'm also in dire need of a new laptop but that's an expense I am putting off for now because UGH. I am currently using a Microsoft Surface Book 2 that I bought in 2018 which has done so well and was my post-graduate gift to myself. She was pricey at the time but now we're at the stage where it's not compatible with Windows 11 and it's just so slow for photo editing and all that jazz. So I am going to have to upgrade soon. Adulting really sucks ass. And multiple things seem to go wrong at once, have you ever noticed that? My nana used to say "Bad things happen in threes" which is such a weird superstition to have. I mean, she wasn't wrong and more than one thing has gone wrong for me this year but come on! Let's manifest positive vibes, success, and happiness! Kthx world. I lost track of what this paragraph is about. Oh, that's right, needing a new laptop. I'm quite set on sticking with the Microsoft Surface brand because this one has done so well for me and it's a sexy 2 in 1. But they are damn pricy.

I'm also really looking forward to heading out to the beach after the doctor today to take some photos, maybe some long exposures. I finally got an ND filter for my 16mm lens and want to try out my new shutter remote. And it's meant to be quite warm this arvo so I think it would be good. I don't think I do enough photography anymore so I really wanna get back into it. I'm not sure what beach we'll go to yet but I do hope we see a picturesque sunset. And maybe get some ice cream.

Anyway, I don't have much else to report on today so I might keep it brief. Wednesday and Thursday are office days this week so I'm not sure if I'll get daily blogs in but I can try. So I might see you tomorrow or I might not! But I promise I'll be back with more content soon. Much Love,

Ash xx

P.S.: A few weeks ago, Luke and I tried 'Piccolina Gelateria' in Richmond on one date night. I had a scoop of vanilla and chocolate and Luke had a scoop of salted caramel and chocolate (I think, soz if I'm wrong). But we'll add this to our ice cream ratings list when we start that too. I really enjoyed the vanilla which I wasn't expecting but it was really refreshing. Just what I needed after a long ass day in the office.

P.P.S.: I've also forgotten to do a question for today! Oh no. For today's question, I want to know what dream have you had that's come true (if any)? Or if there's a dream you've had that you would like to turn into reality. Let me know in the comments below.

For me, I had a dream in high school about a little yellow moped and then the next day my neighbour had bought one. I think it was just a coincidence but it was kinda eerie at the time. I think I was like 16.

Okie this time it's a for realises goodbye! See you! xx
