Day 6 of "Figuring it Out" - Chronic Fatigue

Updated: Sep 25

Kia Ora fam.

I really wasn't sure whether or not I should write today but I think it would help my mental health. Today, I am feeling awful, I woke up with a headache, chronic fatigue, and feeling super dizzy. I was not well enough to go to work. I feel awful having chronic health issues because I just want to have energy and feel 100%. I have just found out that I do have significantly low iron levels which may be part of the problem so starting iron supplements today and seeing how that goes. But I am starting to re-evaluate what I need to do to put my health first. I feel very fortunate to have such a supportive partner who helps me on the daily.

Apparently, it's quite common for women and people with IBS to have low iron (which I don't really understand why no doctor has ever checked this before now for me considering fatigue is something I've had for the past 5 years). But alas, here we are - giving this a go and then seeing more specialists in the near future - yay /s. /s is shorthand for sarcasm - I saw it on Reddit once and seemed to have picked it up. Seeing specialists is something that isn't new to me and it's become a normal part of my life.

As I originally planned on being in the office day, I scheduled a post at 8am this morning "25 Random Facts About Me" - feel free to give it a read. I think it's pretty cool to get to know me a bit more. But I did write this when I was feeling a lot better than I was today.

I am really struggling to write today, the fatigue and the brain fog are no fun. So I might just keep today's daily blog short and sweet and come back tomorrow when I'm hopefully feeling A LOT better. In other news, the YT channel that I'm currently watching is '"cjades" - a YT channel where Courtney reacts to scary TikToks and reads personal scary stories found online. Check it out if you're feeling like watching something a bit spooky.

For today's question, I want to know what's your favourite takeaway? Let me know in the comments below. I'm a big fan of Maccas, Subway, H*lls Pizza (back in NZ), Grill'd, and most recently, Ye's Wok. I want to try more takeaway places but I get a bit worried about how my stomach will react (bc of IBS) so I haven't explored as many places as I would like.

That's all for today folks. See you later alligator! Ka kite.

Much love,

Ash xx
