Hi friends! Happy Fri-YAY! I thought for this week's edition of Freaky Friday Files, we could take another look at some disturbing Wikipedia pages! Enjoy.

The Great Sheep Panic - On the 3rd of November, 1888, in Southern England, around 8 PM, tens of thousands of sheep flew their paddocks on a simultaneous impulse. The next morning, a lot of the sheep were found scattered miles away from their paddocks, and it's thought that they all ran away due to thunder and lightning. It doesn't say if the sheep were harmed, but I'm assuming not (well, I'm going to be ignorant here, even though I eat meat).
Duncan MacPherson - A professional Canadian ice hockey player who went missing in Austria in 1989 (at the age of 23). In 2003, his remains were located in a melting glacier. To this day, his case is unsolved, but one theory is that Duncan had a snowboard injury and, while waiting for rescue, he got run over by a snow car by accident. It's possible that this was the case IMO.
The Murder of Liam Ashley - This one is from NZ, and it's really sad. On the 24th of August, 2006, in Mount Eden, Auckland, 17-year-old Liam was m*rdered by George Charlie Baker. Liam had charges pressed against him by his OWN parents, who wanted him to go to prison for using their car without their permission (like normal teenager stuff), and while being transported there, he got f*cking m*rdered because authorities put a convicted m*rderer in the transport van with him. This case is AWFUL. RIP Liam.
Yobai - translates to "night-crawling" - This was an ancient Japanese custom of premarital s*x where young unmarried men would silently enter houses that had young unmarried women in them. The man would silently crawl into the woman's room and make his intentions known. If the woman consented, they would have s*x. He would leave before morning. WTF?
Baba Anukja - Apologies if I've talked about this one before, but 90-year-old Baba Anukja was a serial k*ller from Serbia who would sell "love potions" to women whose husbands were being jerks and in the potion was arsenic. Baba Anukja poisoned over 50 people in the late 19th century. She was sentenced to prison in 1929 and released after spending 8 years in prison. That's crazy to me.
Kurupi - Kurupi is a figure in Guaraní mythology that is known for a VERY long p*nis that can wrap around the torso and is feared as a r*pist/abductor type towards women.
Curry Shop Shimizu - In Japan, there was a "joke" restaurant created by PS Ken Shimizu that served faeces-flavoured curry. The dish didn't have any actual faeces in it, but was created with a combination of Japanese yam, bitter melon, carrot, onion, minced chicken, cocoa, and fish guts. Gross. I think the restaurant was only open for about a year.
Beezin' - DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME! Beezin' refers to the practice of a person using the brand Burt's Bees Lip Balm rubbed on one's eyelid to induce a kind of "high". The Wiki page claims that this could be entirely made up and/or a moral panic.
Cosmic Latte - Cosmic Latte refers to the "average" colour of all the galaxies of the universe, which is perceived by human observers from the position of Earth. The colour is #FFF8E7.
Crooked Forest - There is a forest located in the village of Nowe Czarnowo, near Poland, that has a series of oddly shaped pine trees (the trees are curved). No one knows why the trees are like this.
Exorcist steps - This refers to a set of stairs in Washington, DC, that are famous for being in the movie The Exorcist, where the character falls to his demise. Spooky.
Montague Street Bridge - This is a bridge located in South Melbourne, and oh my gosh, there are some crazy stories about this bridge. It has a very LOW height clearance, but you hear all the time about trucks and things that always crash into it. I don't understand how this keeps happening, but it does. LOL.
