Day 19 of "Figuring it Out" - Rain, Rain, Go Away, Come Again Another Day

Updated: Sep 26

Good evening blog friendos! Happy Tuesday! The Melbourne rain today is CRAZY (it's humid AF but the rain is going sideways and it's sooo dark and miserable outside). I couldn't even get out for a walk this morning, which is lame because I just want to be outside in the sunshine.

It's a late post from me today because I slept in this morning (thank you late shift) and really needed to rest so I didn't get ready for awhile, just sorta watched some tv and made some social media posts. I hate that people might have the misconception of me that I'm lazy because of my health. I'm definitely not lazy, I'm pretty sure people have described me as one of the most determined and dedicated person that they know. However, I'm just worried that because I am struggling so much with every day tasks, that people are going to think less of me. Especially when I need to put my health first. If I had a choice over this, this wouldn't be happening to me and I'd have a normal amount of energy to put into things. Although, in saying that I think I've been pretty good at getting daily blog posts in for the past 19-20 days. Anyway, it's been busy as today at work so that doesn't help things or give me much time to think. Isn't it weird how boredom cultivates creativity? Also, side note, when Luke and I were out for dinner on Saturday night, I overheard a man talking about going on a 10 day silent meditation retreat (and that he didn't end up going because he talks to much) and I was thinking to myself how blissful that sounds. But, I bet things like that are expensive and you can probably make them yourself somehow! Also sounds very New Agey.

Other than that, there's not much else going on in my brain. I've got a lot of brain fog - I don't know whether it's from the iron deficiency or the actual supplements/medication I am (but it sucks). I always used to think of myself as other people's personal diaries. Like at university I used to remember my own timetable as well as like 5 other people's. And I am usually pre good at remembering when appointments are, useless information, and when all meetings are with just looking at a calendar once. However, lately, I haven't even been able to remember certain things that Luke and I have on and I am so frustrated. This is one trait that I had that I really loved.

In keeping in line with Spooky Season, I thought I'd share 10 Spooky Blogs/Sites that you should follow in 2023.

  1. Bloody Disgusting - a blog filled with news about all things horror - from movie reviews to podcasts to interviews

  2. Creepypasta (obvs a cliché one, but always a good read) - a collection of creepypasta stories from around the world

  3. Reddit/r/nosleep - not really a blog but good if you want to read scary stories written by everyday people. The theme of this subreddit is to act like everything is real to make it a more "real" experience

  4. Lost & Found - a blog dedicated to discussing and finding answers about missing persons cases

  5. Moon Mausoleum - an online blog-style magazine dedicated to all things paranormal

  6. Hayley is a Ghost - a paranormal researcher who uses science to explain paranormal abnormalities

  7. Paranormal News - all things creepy, spooky, and paranormal related!

  8. Crime Reads - a blog dedication to crime fiction (books and movies). Also a few true crime posts in there too

  9. Anomalien - a blog dedicated to exploring unexplained phenomena

  10. The Haunted Librarian - all things paranormal related - I highly recommend this one

So there you have it, 10 spooky sites to check out this spooky season! Check out one of my canva designs below for Spooky Season!

I also saw someone post on Insta Reels or maybe Tik Tok a sarcastic joke about everyone suddenly posting for spook season, where he suggested that adult life is scary enough (I thought it was funny but also we like to post things for spooky season - it gives us that false sense of excitement).

Anyway, let's move on to today's question! What was your favourite TV show as a kid? I was definitely a fan of Squirt, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, and Basil Brush. Let me know in the comments what yours was/were!

That's all for Tuesday!

Ka kite,

Much love,

Ash xx
