Day 43 of "Figuring it Out" - Eerie Vibes

Updated: 5 days ago

Happy FriYAY everyone! Well, not for me as I'm working the weekend (but alas, will have time for a lot more rest from next week onwards). How's the weather in your part of the world? The air feels cold at the moment in Melbourne but outside the sun is shining. I think it's supposed to warm up later on and then rain more next week. I wish the weather was a bit more constant so that you actually knew how to dress. In the morning in Melbourne you need a big jacket and fluffy socks/ugg boots but by the afternoon, you should be in summer gear. It just changes so drastically and within minutes too. Crazy!

Last night the weirdest thing happened to me! While Luke was at cricket training I went to bed early and was just watching some YouTube on my laptop and scrolling my phone as you do when suddenly the Google Home speaker starts going off about how to make an old fashioned (a whisky drink) and then randomly turned off. I thought maybe it was me somehow but neither my phone nor my laptop were connected to it. I also went down to double check the main TV was off too. I also double checked who had access to it and just me and Luke and made sure my phone and laptop didn't have any extra adds running in the background. I don't think it could have been Luke either as he wasn't home and would be too far for it to connect. It was pretty freaky!

After that, I had some weird dreams when I went to bed - although that might have been because I ate food quite late. Anyway, the first dream that I had was a man dressed in a yellow rain coat and a dark blue hoody was going around my mum's neighbourhood back home and something seemed a bit off about him (I couldn't tell you what bc the dream is kinda blurry now it's the next day). The dream then cuts to me talking to my mum about this man and she then says he had passed away. Maybe he was a ghost? I looked up the meaning of someone passing away in a dream is the symbolisation of the end of something and then the beginning of something new (kinda makes sense for where I'm currently at employment wise). I also looked up what the colour yellow means in a dream and it means "you're destined for happiness and will be completely satisfied in your spiritual life" - I'm not sure whether the dream was representing something more sinister or not but I think I'm going to go with it being a good thing (even though the dream was scary).

My second dream last night was kinda like the Stephen King TV series "Under the Dome" based on his novel from 2009. I haven't read the book and I didn't get very far through the TV series because it really freaked me out - I think I may have only watched the first season and then got too scared and chickened out (it's freaky ok!). But basically, the concept of Under the Dome happened in my dream (I hope this isn't a spoiler) - where a giant dome appears in the sky and just lands over certain people. Anyway, I was off somewhere else and then someone connected to me who was in a white hospital bed and then inside a space-kinda tube thing nearly got stuck Under the Dome and so me and this random other guy (who looked like Nathan Fillion had to go and save this woman. So we went on this mission in the middle of the night but the other lady had been taken by someone else in like a hostage sort of situation and we had to fight to get her back (with swords I think). Then I woke up because the dream was scary. I also have no idea how to google the meaning of this dream because it was so weird. My subconscious is also really odd - like I don't even know how it comes up with these things.

I left my old dream journal back at my mum's house in NZ but next time I'm over there, I am going to have to get it and dive through all my dreams because I feel like some of them would make a really good book. Is this something you would be interested in? Let me know in the comments below.

Also, really random tangent (directed at NZ people mainly), does anyone remember a kid's tv show from maybe like 2007/2008 that was on air on Channel 2 on Saturdays where it was about these kids going on creepy adventures and in one scene, one of the girls sees her reflection change in the mirror and then she went into the mirror and the whole vibe was just really creepy? Or am I just imagining the whole thing? I don't have much more memory of the show, only that scene really stuck with me. The only think I can think of is 'Freaky' - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freaky_(TV_series) but I'm not 100% sure if it's the right one and was in 2003 so I don't think I was old enough to be watching tv shows like this then. I also think it could have been The Killian Curse - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killian_Curse

NZ friends - let me know if you remember either of those. I might have to do some more hunting to find old clips. Although, with the synopsis of The Killian Curse I think that it's most likely that one and I've blocked every other episode out of my mind. I feel like today's blog post is just me showing how scared I am of things. I definitely do enjoy some Horror and some Thrillers just not all the time. I think I like the more psychological vibe ones like The Babadook, Midsommer, Shutter Island etc.

Today is a 10-6 shift for me from home (same as the weekend), and then Luke is going to cook us a curry tonight and then we'll head over to his parents for supper. We have a bit on over the next few days so I am really looking forward to some well-deserved rest next week and seeing how my body goes from there. It's interesting how they're are all these little signs at the moment for me leading to something new - I hope it's a good thing. I'm not too sure whether I believe in 'synchronicity' or not (even after doing so much research on it during my masters thesis) or if it's all just coincidence. But it is interesting to try and take a positive spin of what might be negative emotions or have the feeling that something else is waiting for me.

For today's question, I want to know, are you a morning or night person? Let me know in the comments below. For me, it used to always be morning but struggling to get up with health issues at the moment. So I guess I gotta so night person for now!

That's all folks!

Ka kite,

Much love,

Ash xx
