Gratitude Diaries 2: Gratitude Journal Prompts (& My Answers)

1) How does the view from your window make you feel? Happy that I can see the sunshine and watch people walk by without them noticing me too much. I also feel grateful to see all the spring flowers blooming.

Suburban neighborhood at sunset with soft orange clouds. Rooftops and parked vehicles are visible. A calm and serene atmosphere.

2) What's one aspect of breakfast that you're grateful for today? I love going out for breakfast and getting things like French Toast or Eggs Benedict. I'm also grateful to be able to have a kitchen that can do all that, too. And that I can cook.

3) What are three current positives in your life? 1. Benji Bear (our dog) 2. Having a roof over my head 3. Living in Melbourne with my partner, Luke.

4) What aspects of your home bring you joy? Being able to watch the sunrises and sunsets from the balcony, my office area with a fancy desk and chair, my kitchen where I can bake, and having 3 bathrooms.

Home office with a black chair, desk, and laptop. Rainbow light, plants, and stationery add color. Bright room with large windows. Cozy vibe.

5) How does your pet bring joy into your life? Benji is always so happy all the time. He loves going for walks, loves going in the car and to the park, and he's always well behaved. He makes so many people smile, and that brings me joy. He's the best doggo.

6) What are three accomplishments you're proud of? 1. My Masters Thesis - "Social Media: A New Religion?" 2. Moving countries (NZ to Australia - CHCH to Melbourne) 3. Getting therapy

2. The cup of tea Luke made me

3. So many things to watch on streaming services

9) What's something you appreciate about your morning routine?

10) Have you overcome any toxic habits? How?

I think so. I used to be quite judgemental, and now I feel less so. I think therapy has helped with this, and also taking a second to consider that we can't always see what someone else is going through (it also comes from my own perspective). I also don't spend as much time on social media as I used to, and that's probably from trying to make my own content. And I think I'm getting better at boundary setting/saying if something makes me uncomfortable - also due to therapy.
