Whimsical Websites To Check Out
The Useless Web - Click the button and be taken to a random website.
Sketchbug - A place where you can drag cute things online. You can also sketch with others!
The Little Daily - A place for free daily puzzles that's set up like an online newspaper. If you like word games and logic puzzles, this is one for you!
Consult Your Guardian Angel - A website that gives you advice based on the creature you pick intuitively. It's a good one for those who like things like astrology. The creatures change weekly, so you will always have something new to read. Today, I chose The Philosopher because it looked like an owl, and that's my spirit guide, and the advice I got was: "Something incredible is on its way to you. You won't see it coming, which will make the pull it has on your heart all the more powerful." There's even a collection of dreams that the website designer has written - damn, maybe I should go back to my dream journals ebook I was writing OR put them on my blog, hmm.
Window Swap - A website where you can literally stare out of someone else's window. You can search or do it randomly. This would be a good tool for grounding exercises if you're feeling overwhelmed or overstimulated while working on a computer. You can even submit your own window view!!!
SugarcoatedDiary - Wanna take a trip back to the Y2K and 2010s era? Then this website is for you! It's a very girl, pretty in pink atmosphere.
MEI Booth - A digital photo booth where you create your own photo booth like you would at an arcade. It's very cute.
Worldwide Sidewalk Joy - A map where you can find cute installations near you (like little community libraries, art galleries, free greenhouses), and I think you can even add your own. There are a couple around Geelong near Melbourne, and I found one even in NZ!!
Explore.org - Check out live cameras in the wilderness! You can watch bears all day.
Map Crunch - The website drops you into a random location via Google Street View, and you can explore that area.
Neal fun - A place where you can explore interactive games, quirky web experiments, and data visualisations (although the absurd trolley problem one freaked me out a little).
Virtual Bubble Wrap - Literally, you pop the bubbles with your mouse; it's so addictive!
Pixel Thoughts - A website where you can type out your worries and watch them drift off into space (it's kinda like the leaves on a stream technique my therapist gave me; I better write this one down for him).
Instructables - A place where you can learn how to make anything (I found a fairy garden gingerbread house). There are so many skills you can learn here. And if you're looking for stuff to do with your hands, then this is the place!
A Good Movie to Watch - A place that has SO many underrated movies and TV shows for you to watch.
Cat Bounce - Watch cats bounce; it's so silly!
WhiskItLab - A place where you can find new baking recipes (and it teaches you the chemistry behind it). THERE'S EVEN A FEW RECIPES FROM NZ WOO!
Color Method - A place where you can test how you see colours on your screen.
