Hi friends! Welcome back to another blog. This blog will focus on the 2026 goals I've set for myself. But before we get to that, I thought we could take a quick look at what I achieved in 2025 (and didn't quite achieve). I don't like to force myself or get mad at myself if I don't always finish everything, as sometimes goals can be lapsed over to the next year.

2025 Goal Blog Posts:

The goals that I did achieve were as follows: I read 54 books (my goal was 20-30), paid my student loan repayments, made a 2nd blog, made a free download for asheycakes - you can check it out "here", put more effort into sociology content, made more aesthetic vlogs, went live on socials, bought new lighting gear, got my ABN, started eating healthier, completed daily mindfulness most days, left the house more, learned to make sorbet/ice cream and bread and pasta, travelled to places with Benji and Luke, got to Level 64 in Pokemon Go thanks to the update, played Randonautica, and bought some nice outfits.

The goals that I didn't achieve were as follows: Save X amount of money due to the number of specialists I saw, increase my social following (but I did increase my blog traffic - does that count?), finish my secret ebook project, start writing fiction, lose weight, learn Procreate (I watched a few tutorials), go on a ghost tour, and my bonus goal of doing something adrenalin junkie.

My goals for 2026 are a bit different this year. Some I've overlapped, but others are more health-focused (you'll see what I mean).

My 2026 Goals

  • Read 30 - 50 books.

  • Write a comedy script (just write a stand-up one, doesn't have to be good, and I don't need to perform it).

  • Write a fictional short story.

  • Work on getting my fitness back, walk at least 5000 - 10,000 steps per day, and hopefully lose weight in the process, and get toned more (and be happier with my body in the process).

  • Be able to stand up still for longer periods. It's easier to walk around than stay still at the moment (likely due to suspected POTS or CFS - I have 8 sessions booked with the POTS physio, so I'm hoping that will help + help my sciatica). I really want to not struggle with doing the dishes.

  • Eat more of an anti-inflammatory diet like the "Mediterranean Diet" and make sure to eat 1-2 kiwifruit per day for IBS health.

  • Focus on saving more money/generating more income. I'm also going to put "pay my required student loan repayments" here.

  • Post more short-form content (like IG reels) about Chronic Illness.

  • Grow Benji's socials more (he's benjibear_thecorgi on IG and TikTok).

  • Travel to Vancouver, Canada, for 2 weeks to meet my pen pal.

  • Go ghost hunting/go on a ghost tour.

  • Improve my food photography, i.e., set up a little food stand somewhere in our house where I can put all my lighting equipment.

  • Figure out what I'm doing with my secret ebook project (I am starting to think it's lame).

  • Take myself on more solo dates (i.e., leave the house by myself more to go to the zoo or the mall).

  • Continue with my EMDR and CBT therapy and focus on my mental health a bit better.

  • Experiment with more ice cream flavours (I want to try orange choc chip like a jaffa tasting flavour, matcha, milo, and pineapple).

  • Make a marshmallow from scratch.

  • Start playing around with food art / make my Characterie Boards get a lot better - thanks to my mum for inspo for this goal with her cute food art.

  • Declutter the house and get rid of stuff we don't need (sorry, Luke, I like being a minimalist).

  • Redecorate the lounge and make use of our space better (fingers crossed our lease gets renewed for another year).

Some other things that I want to do are travel somewhere with Luke and Benji when the weather is a bit cooler, pay off my credit card, and fix a few things that need fixing. I'm not sure if I'll have an adrenaline junkie/bonus goal for this year.

If I had to choose a few words to focus on for 2026, it would be "health, creativity, and adventure."

Thanks for reading! Let me know in the comments what your 2026 goals are.
