Random Thoughts I've had lately - Part Twelve

Hi friends! I do apologise for the lack of content lately as I am trying to balance being in my hometown (CHCH) and also working on the blog. I've been feeling quite tired and trying to also catch up with everyone and then people make plans with me and I feel like a bit of a hot commodity sort of thing. So please bear with me here.


Anyway, I haven't done one of my "Random Thoughts I've had lately" posts and I do have a few on the notes app on my phone ready to go so I thought that would be fun! As always, if you don't know what this is, basically I take the notes app on my phone, then as I think of stuff I write it down, and then once the list is big enough, turn it into a blog post for ya'll lovely people to read.

Random Thoughts I've had lately - Part Twelve


  • I don't like it when people use my mental health against me.

  • Panic attacks suck.

  • I haven't written one of these in ages.

  • We have so much cake, omg.

  • I'm glad this fudge worked with castor sugar.

  • I wonder how NZ will be.

  • I'm hungry, maybe just a bit peckish.

  • I can't wait for Luke to try all the NZ snacks he hasn't yet.

  • Are people going to say bad stuff about my blog?

  • My psychology homework is heavy this time.

  • I need to make a doctors appointment.

  • I'm tired.

  • I feel like an outsider at my own party.

  • Why does Benji like dog cookies so much?

  • I feel a bit sad that people who normally say happy birthday to me, didn't this year. I try and remember every single birthday I can. I'm trying not to take it personally but it's hard.

  • I feel dizzy.

  • I feel worried about Benji staying with someone else.

  • I feel ugly.

  • I love bookshops.

  • This is a lot of "I" statements.

  • Going home for 2 weeks is very scary but it would be cool to do something like swim with dolphins, go on a road trip or a boat trip, we'll see.

  • Don't say things you don't mean grr.

  • Why would you have this kind of doll in your house? It's so racist (like, you should know better).

  • Why am I extra tired in NZ? Did my body just not adjust to the 2 hour time difference or am I not sleeping?

  • Planes suck sometimes.

  • I miss Benji Bear. I hope he's okay.

  • I just want to explore NZ but we haven't really got much of a chance this time around.

  • I feel like a bit of a hot commodity in CHCH but also not if that makes sense, kinda like no one wants to know me.

  • This is so confusing, make up your mind.

  • I don't know what to do.

  • Why does no one care about my blog? Especially those who are related to me? Like, telling me you're not supporting me doesn't really make me feel good.

  • This mountain isn't amazing (sorry, Luke).

  • I miss when I had really good altitude training and could do these walks and hikes - f*ck you low iron, chronic fatigue and IBS.

  • Why am I craving an energy drink?

  • Why am I having weird a$$ dreams all of a sudden? Is it because I'm in a different place? Like I had a dream my crown fell out and a dream we found a rescue dog with puppies.

  • I need to write in my journals.

  • I wonder what it would be like to lick a salt lamp.

  • Why am I sweating more here?

  • Why aren't coffins biodegradable?

  • Will scam calls ever die out?

  • I literally feel so guilty for not working on my blog.

  • My routine feels all out of whack, like not waking up to walk the dog and I completely forgot about my gratitude journal (still been doing my app on my phone though). Like do I give up when I get back to Melbourne or do I keep going because I was on holiday?

  • I hate what's happening to NZ right now with the government.

  • I'm overwhelmed (surprise, surprise).

  • Some people make me feel very uncomfortable.

  • Why would you do that to me?

  • It is nice being able to have full cream milk again without it making me feel sick. I think I've drunk too much.

  • I don't think people get the IBS diet low fodmap isn't something you can do extremely long term. It's designed to be a reset of sorts so you don't have to stay on it once things seem a lot better.

  • These waffles are delicious.

  • Oh my gosh, I have done so many steps today (25,346).

  • My ears need to pop omg.

  • This Lewis Road Creamery Rocky Road flavoured milk is delish! It tastes like marshmallows omg I love it. I wish we had this in Australia.

  • There isn't that much to do in CHCH except eat food.

  • I'm glad I haven't taken Luke to any foodie places he doesn't like so far. Let's hope it stays that way.

  • I should drink more water but it just tastes horrible here.

  • It's okay to have bad days.

  • I really don't like the look of my body in photos right now.

  • It is nice knowing that I don't need to go to the dentist until my check-up. Although they did book me in for November even though I never made an appointment. And now they've booked me in for Good Friday next year so who knows what they're up to.

  • Ugh, why is my Gmail storage always full?

  • I forgot how expensive NZ is.

  • Woo, we booked a weekend trip to Lake Tekapo!

  • I should drink more water.

  • I wish I was fitter.

  • I hope I get some good content on this trip and some good photos! Woo!

No worries, life gets busy! It’s great that you’re prioritizing balance, and honestly, being a “hot commodity” sounds like a good problem to have. Looking forward to your random thoughts post—it’s always fun to see what pops up from those notes! Take your time, we’ll be here. 😊

It’s all going to be ok. The older I get the more those tough thoughts leave. I found finding a new perspective worked well for me. Love to hear about you!
