Welcome back to another monthly life update! What have Ashy, Benji, and Luke been up to this month? I don't think heaps actually happened this month, so this post is a bit shorter than a few of my other life updates.

June 2026 Life Updates
We had Luke's 30th birthday. We went to his parents' house for dinner and had gnocchi and a black forest cake. They also took him shopping for a new suit - Luke's doing a combined 30th with two of his schoolmates next month, so there will be a big party then. I gave Luke some fancy coffee, some clothes, and Benji gave him a tie with rubber duckies on it to go with his suit. Everyone, say happy birthday, Luke, in the comments!!
Oh, obviously Luke's parents got back from Europe! And we had the last week of Frankie sitting.
I had my final exercise physiology appointment, and this one, she actually respected my boundaries. I couldn't believe it. Anyway, I am very glad that's over and done with! I wrote about it in "this blog post".
Speaking of health, I also got my covid booster and am now up to date on all the vaccines I need for Canada. My GP also wants me to see a rheumatologist and has given me the referral for that, but I am waiting until we get back from Canada (I need a break, and my doc is okay with that).
We did a walk around Coburg Lake on Sunday morning, as I really wanted to be out in the sunshine, and I think my POTS symptoms are improving because my heart rate was only getting to like 130 in the hilly bits and usually in those bits it can get up to 170 (same with stairs - and it's not like I'm super unfit or anything). The strength training and coconut water are really helping.
I'm craving sunshine because I think I am experiencing SAD (seasonal affective disorder).
That dentist appointment I had was over, thankfully! I had to wait like 45 minutes on the day, but I think everything went well and all is well with my teefies right now.
I was missing a sock for AGES, and it turned out the sock was in the car's boot. We are not sure how it got in there, as no one has ever had the car boot open while doing the laundry, LOL.
I attempted to make a breakfast acai bowl - it kinda worked, but it wasn't quite thick enough, so maybe next time I should add in more yoghurt/frozen bananas as thickening agents.
I cleaned out my half of our wardrobe, and it was so funny because Frankie was here and he jumped up and sat in all my clothes haha.
Step Counter Updates: As you guys know, one of my goals for 2026 is to walk at least 5 - 10K steps per day, so here's my June 2026 progress! I feel I've done really well this month + have been keeping up my strength training.

The YouTube videos I have put out this month are as follows: The Adventures of Benji and Frankie Episode 3 // The Adventures of Benji and Frankie Episode 4 // The Horrors of AI //
The Freaky Friday Files I have put out are as follows: Extrasensory Perception (ESP) // Haunted Locations in British Columbia, Canada // The Lake Bodom Murders // New Zealand Urban Legends //
TV Shows that Luke and I have been watching are: The X Files (obvs), Ground UP, Schitt's Creek, Cup Fever, and one night our internet was down so we were watching traditional TV and stumbled across a show with William Shatner called The UnXplained and ironically that episode was about caves (I have a cave phobia) but I liked the show so much that we've been watching some more episodes - I found that SBS on demand has from halfway through S4 onwards so I just started watching from there and on my gosh, I cannot believe that William Shatner is 95?! We also watched the movie The Sheep Detectives because it was on streaming, and it made me cry - it was very good, it was a movie I was looking forward to, but I didn't expect it to be so emotional, haha.
TV Shows that I have been enjoying are: I have to say The UnXplained again because I watched some with Luke and some by myself, and I feel like a lot of it covers stuff I've covered in some Freaky Friday Files posts, which is cool, The Last Thing He Told Me, and I need to get onto Sugar S2, seeing as it's out now! So much to watch in winter.
Books I have read this month are as follows: 1. Unstuck by Dr Emily Musgrove 2. The Panic Years by Nell Frizzell 3. Crazy Stories for Curious Minds by Henry Bennett 4. Historical Unsolved Mysteries by Captivating History You can check out my June 2026 book reviews "here".
One morning, we had some cockatoo friends come chill on our balcony. They were quite inquisitive, and Luke ended up giving them some seed in a ramekin, and once they had finished, one of them kicked the ramekin off the balcony into our roof gutter, and we haven't been able to get it out. We can't even see it anymore, so we think it's probably gone forever LOL. One of them came back a second time, but we haven't seen them since.
Speaking of birds, one of the days we took Benji and Frankie down to the Moonee Ponds Creek trail, we saw two king parrots and some musk lorikeets.
We booked 2/3 of our accommodation for Canada, so that's getting sorted, slowly, but surely.
It was the anniversary of my Grandma's passing on my dad's side (RIP) and a few other birthdays too.
I had a sinus infection for almost two weeks - it was like awful pain in my cheekbones, and it was like my sinuses just didn't want to drain properly. No more, please and thank you. I think it's finally starting to clear.
I think I talked about this in one of my unfiltered thoughts blog posts, but I've also been playing a few games on my phone - Monopoly Bingo, Disney Solitaire, Normal Solitaire, and Wordscapes Wordsearch. I feel like I go through periods where I really like playing games on my phone and other periods where I hate my phone, HAHA!
Luke saw his auntie's new house (I missed it due to my sinus issues).
We took Benji to the park and made friends with a nice cav called Evie and a golden called Major. So cute! We don't go to parks as much as we used to because of his leg, and we definitely spend less time there (poor baby).
Things I am looking forward to in July are:
Luke's combined 30th birthday party with his mates
Luke has a fun run sometime
My therapy appointments (my psychologist just had a wee holiday this month)
Getting my haircut right at the very end so that it's decent for our big overseas trip, and I don't have to worry about the curls going crazy on the plane
Watching the finale of MasterChef, Australia (if it's July?)
Also, Luke and I are doing the container deposit scheme (where you take cans that are worth 5-10cents) to help raise funds for our Vancouver trip, so if you're in Melbourne and you have any that you're just going to recycle, we'd love it if you sent them our way!
Thank you for reading! Much love,
Ash xoxo
