Hi friends! Welcome back to another monthly life update for June 2025! So what have Ashy, Benji, and Luke been up to this month? And don't forget to say a big happy birthday to Luke (his birthday was on the 17th).

June 2025 Life Updates
Luke celebrated his 29th birthday. We went to Moreland Hotel with his family on his birthday and shared cake with some of the staff there, it was lovely to see how much joy the cake brought them. For our solo birthday celebrations (couple date), we went out for dinner to Penny Young, and for some celebrations with his mates, we went to The Boatbuilders Yard - I left earlier that night as I wasn't feeling the best and Luke stayed out a bit later and headed off to crown for some drinks. Benji gave Luke "this corgi tie" from Amazon, which is super cute, and if you know someone who loves corgis like us, it would be such a cute present.
Luke's parents safely returned home from Europe.
We went to our first-ever corgi meet-up at a North Melbourne dog park, which was pretty cool. There were sooooo many loaves. There's another one in July in Coburg so we might go to that one too!
Luke went to a trivia night with a few of his mates (I don't think they won, but they did win something in a raffle).
It was Matariki in New Zealand (yay).
I have been trying to leave the house more and finding new places to walk, like different areas of the Moonee Ponds Creek Trail. We also saw a Kookaburra there one day really unexpectedly. I've seen a few in Melbourne but never that close to where we live.
I've had more EMDR sessions, and they are very draining; they definitely take a lot out of you and make you have weird dreams. It's probably going to be a long process.
We tried sandwiches from Bob's Deli, and they were actually really good.
The YouTube videos I put out are as follows: The Mandela Effect Explained // The Bystander Effect // Only two this month as I'm trying for more quality over quantity - that's always been a problem I've had. Next, I want to work on my creepypasta video.
The Freaky Friday Files I put out are as follows: Agent 355 // Friday the 13th // Mysteries I found on Reddit // The Springfield Three.

TV Shows that Luke and I have been enjoying together are: Ludwig, Spicks and Specks - although I'm mad about no secret song, Masterchef Australia, Claire Hooper's House of Games, Gruen, and Digman. I just saw that the second half of Travel Guides is back too, so we'll definitely be watching that. Oh and we finally watched Wicked
TV Shows that I have been enjoying are: Tracker (yes, I finally finished it), The Survivors, and Saturday Night Live (SNL) - this has become one of my new comfort shows. I've also been watching a bit more YouTube lately - mainly to help with my weekly newsletters, where I pick a YouTube video of the week to share in there.
Recipes I've made this month were coffee ice cream, triple choc chip blondies, and white chocolate raspberry ice cream.
The books I have read are as follows:
2. The Girl Most Likely To - Julie Tieu
3. Echo Burning (Jack Reacher #5) - Lee Child
4. Too Fat, Too Sl*tty, Too Loud: The Rise and Reign of the Unruly Woman - Anne Helen Peterson
You can check out my book reviews "here".
I am suddenly obsessed with the KitKat coffee sachets - they are really good!
It was two of my aunts' birthdays back in NZ! And speaking of NZ, Luke and I booked flights to NZ for Christmas (just for a week). I think it's fair that he has to come there with me for one Christmas, seeing as I've been in Melbourne with him for the past three lol. I hate leaving Benji, but he'll be in good hands.
It was my Grandma's one-year anniversary (on my dad's side).
We still haven't taken Benji back to obedience school, as we want to make sure the ground is nice and hard for him so he doesn't injure himself again.
We FINALLY had the guy from Detector Inspector come and check our Smoke Alarms (if you've been reading my weekly newsletters, you'll know what a mission that was). And everything seems to be in working order.
I've been trying the "Sleepy Girl" mocktail that was really popular on TikTok a while back, but I'm not sure how well it's actually working, and I haven't actually had it every single day. The idea is that the magnesium is meant to help you sleep. If you do have tummy issues like me, make sure you go for the magnesium glycinate as it's the one that doesn't have a laxative effect and has better calming properties. Disclaimer - I am not a doctor, just an IBS girly.
We got a few donuts from Daniel's Donuts, and they did a collab with Sooshi Mango and the donuts were VERY delicious - as a donut lover, I was super satisfied.
We had a Benji Day where we took Benji down to Augie's Place in Brunswick, went to a new park there, and let him pick stuff from the pet shop. He picked a kangaroo tail - it was HUGE but he ate it soooo fast LOL.
I have been cooking a bit more (thanks to Luke, who has cooked a lot lately), but I made a spinach, chorizo, and tomato gnocchi, my tofu and rice noodles dish, fish & spicy wedges, homemade burgers, and rocky road.
Things I am looking forward to in July are - seeing one of my NZ friends who is coming over to Melbourne, more EMDR sessions, a haircut, birthday drinks for one of Luke's mates, and we've got another corgi meet up to go to (weather permitting).
Thank you for reading! I hope you continue to enjoy my monthly life updates
Much love,
Ash x

Coffee ice cream sounds amazing! I’m definitely going to have to check that recipe out!
I always forget that other countries have their own versions of American shows. It makes it so much better thought with your accents. LOL!
Should I also buy Kitkat coffee sachets? Maybe that will reconcile me to coffee. Looks like a busy June. I hope July brings its share of good things.
Coffee ice cream sounds lush! I need to attempt this.
I enjoyed reading your busy June update. I will be trying the sleepy girl mocktail at home and a few other recipes you listed.
